Tool Librarian

..... a powerful webapp for tool lending libraries

Tool Librarian is tool lending library software that tracks members, tools, and tool loans. Its thoughtful design offers a startlingly clean and intuitive interface which makes for easy training of volunteer librarians.

Screens can be configured to remove several of the fields shown in the videos below. This allows flexibility in meeting the needs of individual libraries. These optional fields are:

• Neighborhoods (if you track your member's neighborhood like we do here at the SouthEast Portland Tool Library.)
• AddressVerifier (if you want a second form of Member ID to prove the member's home is within your catchment area.)
• SignedMemberAgreement (if you have Member Agreements each member must sign.)

There are additional options not shown in the videos. First off, two of three membership/dollar arrangements are not shown. The three are:

• a) No donations or fees requested for membership, or
• b) Annual Dues, which can include a Lifetime Membership level, or
• c) An Enrollment Fee (a one-time [optional?] payment when joining the library)
• And finally, unrelated to the above, References (intent: enter names and phone numbers of "emergency contacts", to use when tools are long overdue.)
